The Business

We are currently supporting the recruitment of a Product Manager for the UK part of a global technology group with around 50,000 employees across some 60 countries. The business operates across numerous areas as a global technology group and development partner to their customers. They have a strong reputation for setting standards in technology, innovation and quality. Working closely with colleagues from various industries, with customers, partners, and the scientific community, they develop leading-edge technology products, solutions and services. 

The Role

  • Full product management of UK categories including all NPD, ensuring all set targets are delivered on a Net Sales, Gross Profit and Market share level
  • Lead the UK category launch team, preparing all local launch documentation, setting targets and defining forecasts and launch timings
  • Be able to confidently produce and present  powerpoint presentations on all NPD to key customers along with full category plans in order to grow overall sales and distribution
  • Monitor and analyse the local market using IRI and GFK data as well as having access to customer specific data sources, using the information to provide updates and insights on our sales, as well as the competition
  • Work directly with external agencies on promotions, marketing / media and PR, managing budgets and setting plans and strategies as agreed with the Marketing Director 
  • Control the A&P budget for the given area and PMS, ensuring no overspend and key promotions are well managed, providing a clear ROI on all monies spent.
  • Work with the international team providing support on translations, ROP’s and local pricing information
  • Work alongside & support the Sales team to plan in promotional activity and support on an account by account basis, as required, including accompanying the Sales team on customer visits and making presentations to senior buyers, etc.
  • Administrative elements to support the role, including raising purchase orders / invoicing etc

The Person

  • Degree in topic related education, eg. Marketing, Communication, Media Management, Business Studies & Marketing specific post grad qualification
  • >3 years’ experience at a brand/shopper marketing level
  • Experience within an FMCG company
  • Knowledge and experience in all elements of the value chain (Sales, Marketing and Logistics)
  • Ability to use, understand and analyse IRI and GFK data as well as being aware of I2C data and Dunnhumby 
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Strong Excel, Powerpoint & presentations skills
  • Proven strong negotiation skills
  • Strong leadership credentials
  • Confident & persuasive communicator
