We are looking to recruit an experience Category Executive  for a branded producer of ambient goods in Greater London area.  The business has internationally recognised brands and prides itself on creating an open, positive and welcoming working environment with excellent employee benefits. The role will offer a home based contract (expectation of 1-2 days a week in the office and the same with retailers).



As part of an enthusiastic and talented national account team, the Category & Insight Manager will work for the Senior Category & Insight Manager in further developing the category relationship with key customers in a growing category, with specific responsibility for managing and executing the Category approach of te business in the Convenience, Discounter & C&C sectors in the UK and Ireland. The Category & Insight Manager will take on significant responsibility and gain broad commercial experience working in a challenging and collaborative environment where effective teamwork is fundamental to success. The interaction with both the Sales and Marketing teams will be key.




  • Working with both the Sales & Marketing teams to drive category initiatives that benefit the business in a practical, co-ordinated and prioritised manner.
  • Maximise brand presence and stand-out across key Convenience, Discount and C&C retailers as well as other key channels, in the UK and Ireland.
  • In liaison with the Senior Category & Insight Manager, responsible for drawing up the strategic business category plan for the Convenience, C&C, Discounter and Irish Channels in line with the agreed category strategy.
  • Building, refreshing and delivering key reports across the business to enable the development of actionable insight.
  • Strong interaction with key insight suppliers (for example IRI, Kantar, 5one).
  • Management of Space Planning software and live image library for planograms.
  • Build strong relationships across the businesses, working in a close and collaborative manner with colleagues from all parts of the business. A strong harmony and team spirit has been built up between the Marketing and Sales functions within the Mainstream Grocery Team and this needs to be sustained.




  • Evidence of a strong understanding of category management and its practical implementation, and how the function aligns to the wider commercial business.
  • Strong experience and understanding of the FMCG environment in the Grocery Multiples, Convenience, Discounters and/or C&C channels.
  • Evidence of strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data and information into actionable insight.

  • Excellent planning skills and ability to work across several customer platforms.
